What is Doxy?+
Doxy is a document-chat app: you upload your files, group them into projects, and ask questions in plain language. Doxy reads your sources and answers with citations, so you can see exactly where every answer comes from.
What file types can I upload?+
Doxy handles anything Microsoft MarkItDown can convert: PDFs, Word, PowerPoint and Excel files, images, audio, HTML, CSV, ZIP archives, EPUB and more. You can also add a web link and Doxy will read the page directly.
How is Doxy different from ChatGPT?+
ChatGPT answers from its general training. Doxy answers only from the documents you give it and shows the exact sources behind each answer, so you get grounded, verifiable responses instead of guesses.
Is Doxy a NotebookLM alternative?+
Yes. Like NotebookLM, Doxy groups sources into notebook-style projects and chats with citations. Doxy adds a broader range of file types, web links, and Pro/Business plans with quizzes and higher limits.
Does every answer show its sources?+
Yes. Each response lists the source documents it used, so you can click through and verify the answer against the original material.
Can I chat with a web page or YouTube video?+
Yes. Paste a URL and Doxy fetches the page directly. For YouTube links it pulls the transcript, so you can ask questions about the video's content.
Is my data private?+

Is there a free plan?+
Yes. You can start for free, with paid Pro and Business plans for higher upload and question limits plus extras like quiz generation. See the pricing section for the current limits.
What is the quiz feature?+
On Pro and Business plans, Doxy can turn your selected sources into a multiple-choice quiz with explanations — useful for studying or checking comprehension of a document set.
What languages does Doxy work in?+
You can upload documents and ask questions in many languages. Doxy answers in the language of your question wherever the source material supports it.
